I think I'll try defying gravity. flying high, defying gravity I watched curiously but silently as she fumbled with a few strings that were tied to her back. When she pulled off two sheaths that looked like that housed two pretty heavy duty blades, a suprised look passed momentarily across my features. The look vanished almost as quickly as it had appeared and my features were back to displaying their cool relaxed look. I was not going to question the motives of a girl , at least not at the moment. My golden gaze danced to the skies as I watched the sun creep closer to its resting place. A slight smile danced across my features as I realized the stars were about to come out from their hiding places. How I loved the stars and everything they represented.
My look remained distant and lost for a moment as I thought about all the things I had been taught about the night sky and its planets and celestial bodies. Leaning once more back on my arms, my eyes sought out the first appearance of those floating balls of gas. My attention was diverted, however, when she spoke once more. I slowly moved my gaze from the sky to her face. I could still see the concern etched across her features and, at that, my grin grew into a sly smirk at someone looking after me. "Trust me, I'll be fine. I just don't take great care of my human self."
After speaking, I ran my long fingers through the blond locks that covered my head. Once I removed my hand, most of them were standing on end but the tossled look did not bother me much as I was not one for vanity. A smile danced once more across my features as I looked away from her again and up to the skies. My eyes twinkled with the light from the first visible star as I watched it, stationary in the sky. Turning back to look at her again, I spoke once more. "You're the one that needs the sleep with the problems you had earlier." There was only a hint of teasing in my voice as I spoke but my sly grin remained in place.

She noticed him looking a little surprised at her samurai swords. A slight smile ran across her face. "Its a long boring story." she said once she had laid down on the ground again. Her smile was gone and she couldn't stop herself from remmbering that day she had surpressed for so many years. She loved the night. She loved being rapped in the darkness, it made her feel completly hidden and safe. She almost jumped when he spoke. She looked at him raised on his elbows staring at the stars. She looked up as well but she was pulled more to the moon rather than the stars. "I don't take very good care of my feline self." He spoke again after a few minutes. "Yeah I should, but I don't want to." she could be stubborn as hell sometimes, but she just had an uneasy feeling.

I think I'll try defying gravity. flying high, defying gravity A grin stretched across my features as I saw her noticing my eyeing her swords. I heard her words come forth on the slightly chilling air and I chuckled lightly. "Hey I was going to leave it alone. You were the one who brought it up." My deep golden eyes danced slightly with a bit of mischief but it faded slowly with the last rays of the sun sinking below the horizon. I watched quietly as she seemed to fall deep into thought and I left it at that as if I were trying to avoid upsetting her or even making her think of something that she did not want to contemplate at the moment.
Laying completely upon the ground, I stretched my tanned arms behind my head so that they cushioned my head for at least the moment being. One of my golden eyes were closed as I gazed up at the stars in the company of a girl I hardly knew. Another light chuckle rolled across my lips as the thought crossed my mind. What a bizarre day this was turning out to be.
I listened to her soft words in the dark, simply listening and what she said interested me. "Hmm, I actually enjoy my shifter form so much more. I don't know, i guess I just feel free." Even though she probably could not see it, my gaze was turned so that I was looking at her once more. Well, my gaze was more on her outline than anything by it was the thought counts right? I chuckled again to myself as I listened to her next words. My tone grew slightly more serious as I spoke once more. "Now you're just being childish." My eyes sparked once more as I lay back down. I stretched my arms above my head and spread my legs out as if I were in my leopard form. True, I was not one much for manners but sometimes a back just needs cracking and she did not seem like the time to judge on lifestyles.

She didn't have anything to say, her mind was totally blank. She had to fight herself to just stay awake. Just as she was going to close her eyes he spoke again. "What's so wrong with being a little childish?" she looked over at him with a little devilish grin spread across her face. She could only see his eyes, eventhough they were only inches away from eachother, ripping through the darkness. She broke away after a minute and gazed back up at the moon. It was completly quiet in the dark field except for their breathing. It took her only a couple minutes to fall asleep. She usually never dreamed but tonight she did and of the worst memorie she had ever surpressed. It was about the day her parents were murdered by werewolves. But it only came to her as flashing images of blood covered walls and torn up bodies. She woke up with Lakota's arm around her waist. She gently moved his arm but doubted he would have woken up. She sat up and put her face in her hands trying to surpress the memories that had run through her mind that night. She took a couple deep breaths and tried to calm herself down a bit but kept her face in her palms.

I think I'll try defying gravity. flying high, defying gravity I saw the outline of her from shift as she gazed back at me and met my deep golden eyes. It was not very often that I found myself in the company of another, expecially a girl in the dark of night. A light chuckle rolled from my chest as I though of this but it did not last long before we were silent once again. It did not last long as I heard her speak once again. This time I actually laughed at her words as they sounded sleepy, exactly the thing she was arguing with me. I lay myself back down upon my arms as allowed my gaze to wonder back up to the stars again where my thoughts wondered as i listened to her breathing grow even and soft.
I would not let myself fall asleep and so I spent awhile just gazing at the trees moving above me and the leaves rustling below me. My peace did not last long as, after awhile, she began to have fits and thrash about. My concern grew again as I sat up to gaze down upon the thrashing form of my company. My hand instictively reached down to touch her forehead and I could feel its heat. Running my hand along the length of her body, I tried my best to sooth her tantrums. It was not long that I felt myself grow tired. Not able to resist any longer, I gracefully fell to the forest floor in a deep sleep. Little did I know that my arm had ended up draped over her waist in my unconcious state.
I did not feel her move my arm and let it rest at my side as I was enjoying my bit of sleep. it was the first time it had happened in about three days and it was incredibly refreshing. I did wake with a start when my other arm began to tingle from its odd position underneath my body. Groaning slightly from my night on the ground, I stretched it out to the side as I opened my eyes. The light was thin, like it was early morning and the air was cool. My cargo shorts and t-shirt were damp with the dew and they were slightly clingy to my skin. pushing my arms upward, I got my first glimpse of Scarlet curled in a small ball not far away. I remembered what went on last night and voice came forht. "Are you sure you're alright Scarlet?" I remained half-lying on the ground my concerned gaze still upon her.

She hadn't even noticed Lakota until he spoke to her. She turned and smiled, "I'm fine." she told him. She was still trying to wipe her mind of the memories the night had up brought. Her hands dropped to the ground, feeling the dewy grass under her fingers. It calmed her a little beign closer to nature, and she let out the breathe she hadn't even know she was holding. She let out a little laugh. "We fell asleep." she said. She looked over at him and noticed that he didn't look as bad as he did last night. His eyes were brighter, wich she found shocking. And the black lines and wrinkles were completely gone from under his eyes. "You don't look like crap anymore." she said with a little smile that spread across her delicate features. She looked around the field then scanned the forest. She was satisfied that nothing was there but she was still on her gaurd.

I think I'll try defying gravity. flying high, defying gravity I was still partially asleep as I let my gaze wonder over the dewy landscape that seemed so refreshed in the morning sunlight. I squinted slightly in the watery sunlight as it peaked through the trees that were all around our small clearing in the forest. I stretched open my mouth in a yawn as I rolled myself onto my back and lay sprawled gazing up at the light filtering down from above me. My rest had helped out a little but I was so far behind on sleep that I would have to sleep for three days straight to get myself caught up. Nevertheless, I sat up so I was now sitting crosslegged and I gazed at the girl across from me.
I nodded slightly when she stated that she was fine as it was apparently not so. I dropped the matter, however, and looked down at my rumpled and damp shirt. Being wet had never appealed to me so I did what came to me first. Pulling the shirt over my head, I tossed it not far away in a patch of sunlight in an attempt to make it dry. Now that I was sitting there shirtless, I felt a bit selfconcious put I put that aside as I realized she was talking again and stating that we had indeed fallen asleep. "No, you fell asleep. I was just taking a catnap." A sly grin passed across my face as I licked my hand as if to complete my point. No, I did not usually take part in cat behavior but I thought I was try and be funny.
Standing up back onto my feet, I stretched my arms skyward. Sleeping on the ground was not so great on my human body as I was stiff and a bit sore. Bending at the waist, I reached to touch my toes before straightning once more to here her speak once more. I laughed at her teasing and ran my fingers through my hair making it stand on end once more. "Why thank you very much. As a matter of fact, you actually look worse." Walking close to her, I ruffled my fingers across the top of her head in a joking manner before I easily shifted into a snow leopard. Deciding against that form, I bounced back to become human once more. Oh, how I loved the fact that I was albe to change so easily.

She put her hands on her face and moaned not wanitng to think how shitty she looked. She ran her fingers through her hair and could see out of the corner of her eye Lakota shifting into his leopard form and swiftly back agian. She missed being able to do that without wanting to massacre everything in sight. She used to have control, but for the past two months she was completely out of control. She mentally kicked herself again. She looked over at him and was a little shocked to see him sitting so close to her shirtless. "Why the hell do you have your shirt off?" she said then remembered he was probably soaked from the dew like she was, but she had extra cloths she could change into. Her head perked up when she thought she heard something, but when she searched with her senses there was nothing. She wanted to scream, she couldn't shift and go check it out, she couldn't even just shift. She felt like she was locked in a cage and the key was a couple feet away but her arm couldn't fit in between the bars. She still hadn't figured out why her shifting has been totally down the drain, and she doubted it was going to get any better. She had to shift at least once a month or she'd die. And she knew in a couple months she'd be dead so why even bother to try and fix it. She laughed. Knowing she was going to die in eight weeks and all she could do was laugh about it. She stood and relized her cloths were a lot more drenched than she thougt, she peeled of her wet maroon shirt revealing her black bra and walked over to her motorcycle. She dug through some of the bags that were tied to it and took out another maroon tank top and threw it on. She pulled out a pair of denim jeans that had a few gashes in them from her last encounter a couple days ago with a werewolf. She sliped them on fast and threw her wet cloths into the sun to dry. She felt the grass where she was sitting earlier and it was almost completely dry. She sat back down and ran her fingers through her hair agian.

I think I'll try defying gravity. flying high, defying gravity A slightly carefree laugh danced through my lips at my own teasing. It had been awhile since I had spent so much time within the extended company of another human being. I silenced my sniggers after a moment as simply let my gaze wonder back up to the sky that was growing bluer and brighter with each passing minute. I could feel her eyes upon me as I moved and shifted, sencing that she had a longing about her as if she were wishing she could shift as well like I could. Sometimes it was a burden, however, when I had those usges I could not really resit and I found myself rapidly jumping from one form to the next without realizing what I was doing. Perhaps that was how I could speak, shifting small parts of me without shifting the whole thing.
I was brought back from my thoughts with her abrupt question and my laughting started itself up once again. "I, in hell, have my shirt off because I was wet and I, personally, do not like being wet." I reached out to my side where my wet shirt lay and grabbed it with my long slender fingers. In one smooth motion, I picked it up off of the drying forest floor and tossed it in her direction. A sly grin was spread across my features as my golden eyes sparkled with my small little game. It was the little things that always gave me great enjoyment in my days and yet the person the pranks were played on often did not share my enjoyment on their behalf.
My eyes continued to shine and sparkle as I kept them upon my company as she moved about. When she got up, I settled myself back on the ground. As she peeled off her own wet shirt, I let loose a low wolf-whistle but my smile told her I was only kidding in my teasing. I let my gaze wonder for a moment back to the skies and trees above me as she made her way over to the motorcycle that stood not too far away. When I turned my gaze once more to her, I ealized that she was sitting once more beside me but this time in different pants as well. A hurt look passed across my features before my smile replaced it once more. "Aww I missed the best part of the show." I pushed her lightly in a playful manner before I settled back against my hands splayed out behind me.

She glared at him for a second but smiled back at him anyway and pushed him playfully. She hadn't really been around people a lot for the past two years and it was nice. But she hated thinking about the past few years, so she started fiddling with the gashes in her jeans to keep her mind off things. She laid down on the ground and looked up at the cloudy sky. "It's nice out here." she said after a few minutes not really liking the silence between them. She closed her eyes and focused on the wood that surrounded the feild they were laying in. She loved listening to all the stirring creatures. It made her feel a lot less alone in the world. It made her more angry than sad though. She hated those werewolves for everything they did to her and are still doing. She hadn't known she was clenching her jaw until she opened her eyes to the sky again. She sighed and forced herself to relax and be more aware of what was around her.

I think I'll try defying gravity. flying high, defying gravity My foxy grin placed itself back upon my features as I saw her scowl go from looking threatening to a grin of her own. I chuckled lightly to myself as I gazed back at her before falling silent once more. We seemed to carry a decent conpanionable silence for a long while. I allowed my gaze to wander slightly and take in all of the creatures and foliage that was in the surrounding area. There was not much going on at the moment other than the chirping of a few birds and the scuttling of a squirrel through a tree.
The silence was broken as I heard her voice come forth on the breeze once more. I pondered her words for a moment before I made my vocal cords put together a few words. "It is nice, peaceful and with just the right amount of birds." My eyes twinkled slightly at my cheek as I pointed my golden gaze back to take in her features. She really was a beautiful girl yet she looked frazzled and hurried. Not to mention the gashes in her jeans.
In a quick flash, I shifted into my sleek snow leopard form and padded slowly over to a nearby tree. A small bird had perched itself on a low branch and I had noticed it when I was glancing about earlier. Intending more in fun, I launched myself off of my poised haunches and up toward the bird. One large paw lashed out much too late as the bird had already taken flight. Landing back upon the ground, it was obvious by my features that Ihad enjoyed myself in my slight play. Padding back over to the girl, I stood directly opposite her sitting frame. Settling my haunches upon the ground, I sent my golden gaze back to her so that I was gazing into her own eyes.

She was staring off into space thinking about how unfair her life was, and how she was going to die in a few months while he padded off towards a tree to try to catch a noisy little bird. She saw him trotting back over from the corner of her eye and watched him as he stopped right in front of her. She returned his gaze and couldn't help not to stare into his golden eyes as well. Her mind went completely blank. She felt her cheeks heat up a little and she forced herself to look at the ground. A wave of sadness came over her. I'm going to die in eight weeks. That single thought kept running over and over in her head until she felt a tear run down her cheek. She wiped it away quikly hoping he hadn't seen, but she knew he was still staring at her. She wanted to shift and keep running for miles but she couldn't do it. She just kept her head down and started fiddling with the gashes in her jeans again.
