Kiss my eyes

And lay me to sleep----//------------------------//----
Christine
thought vaguely, though she threw a careless glance over
her shoulder all the more.
Huh… Oh, hold the phone!
Oh! Damn it! She froze for a split second, then, eyes
wide, turned slowly. She somewhat hoped that there would
be nothing there, that her eyes had been playing a trick on
her a second before. But when her fearful gaze fell upon a rather
large, dark figure situated only a few feet clear of her fence,
she was beside herself in fright. Startled, she gave a high-pitched
shriek and all but fell off of the fence in a flurry of flailing
limbs. Somehow, Chris managed to land on her feet, however
rather ungracefully. Her cheeks flushed a deep scarlet when
she gathered herself into a more composed posture, only to
realize that dark figure was but a horse.
A very big horse at that. Well, now that she looked closer,
Christine noted that this creature was a beautiful black stallion,
much too large to be a local horse on the farm.
He must
be a race horse or something, Chris thought absentmindedly.
The stallion seemed friendly enough; he didn’t express any sort
of aggression. And so, no longer intimidated by the horse’s size,
she approached him slowly, her hand outstretched in a forthcoming
gesture. Christine just adored horses; they had such beautiful bodies,
carry themselves with such lovely fluid motions – she just about
envied them.
“Hi there,” she murmured, letting her gentle
fingers touch his muzzle. She made no sudden movements, in the
case that she could spook him and he would find her bothersome
or something rather. Christine smiled, stroking the horse’s cheek.
She sighed absently, talking more to herself than the magnificent
beast that stood before her.
“You’re lucky you know… That you
don’t have to worry about people, and society and what not. Men
can be so mean at times…” A moment passed before sanity and
common sense kicked in. No wonder the dang thing looked so much
different than the other horses! That scarlet tint returned to her face
again. She peered again at the black stallion, eyeing it warily.
Feeling silly and yet again utmost embarrassed, she drew
back, diffidently shying away from what she only just now realized
would most likely turn out to be an equine shifter. [/ul]
