[x] The dreams had come to him countless times, but no matter how frequently they came, they were still unnerving. Each time his eyes closed, all the male could see was a desolate world. Since he was a young pup, the male had caught glimpses of the future through his dreams; and since he was a young pup, the dreams had shown him a world where nothing else existed. When his lids went down, the sky wept crimson tears, and the aura of sorrow was unbearable. The screams of suffering and horror resounded ceaselessly in the confines of his mind. He feared for the wellbeing of the earth.
[x] The male’s name was Nyx. He was the wolf god of the skies. Whatever it was that planned to assault the earth apparently could not be stopped by the gods, meaning one would gain too much power, would betray the others. Nyx shared his dreams with his brother and sister, Tane and Sephryne. He told them of his fears, demanded their oaths that this would not happen. They gave them to him, willingly. It was futile, though. His dreams would come true. They always came true, no matter what. He was uncertain who would bring the earth’s downfall, but he would not leave his mortal children defenseless in the event they discovered there was some way they could prolong the chaos and grief that was to come. With the aid of his siblings, Nyx granted the creatures of earth magics of great potency; from basic control of the elements to powers on the spiritual plain to venomous fangs and claws to incapacitate their opponents.
[x] The world of the gods was in turmoil. No god trusted the other, and as suspicion grew on earth, the mortals feared Sephryne was planning their demise, as she was the Goddess of all things sorrowful. The weather grew harsher, and others began to blame Nyx. As prey grew scarce, Thane faced the blame. No one was certain who would be the cause of the earth’s ruin, or if it would truly happen. Only time would tell. All was not well in the mortal world, either. With great power comes great chaos. Defense was not in the forefront of the mortals’ minds. Newfound magic meant newfound power. Some abused it to their greatest advantage, some tried to deny it. For some it was a curse, for some it was a blessing.
[x] A dire change is upon Eylar. With Nyx’s visions set in stone, is anyone safe? With the gods in turmoil, can they keep the balance, or will they be at one another’s throats? It seems earth is on its own for now. The safety and balance of the mortal world lies at your paws. Do with it what you will.
