Bae Yong-Joon ☆ With a scratch from behind the ear, the young man was hidden away from the rest of the world, hidden away in his favorite and peaceful realm. Here, at St. Asraiels, he was free from judgement, free from procrastination, free from everything but his mind. A small smile formed on his lips as he held the drawing pad in front of him, drawing inaccurate diagrams of the Sparrows that fluttered in and out, some daring to come a wing's span away from where he sat. He was seated on a pew, his legs upright with the help of the deserted pew in front of him. He glanced from his pad to the left, quickly catching the sight of a Sparrow before it was startled by his hand movements. It fluttered out of sight, twittering madly as it did so. Although Bae was part bird, he couldn't decode the language of the birds too well as others. He sighed and looked up to the ceiling of the Church, where the crystal chandelier hung, it's many jewels catching the rays of the sun's last hours before it was dragged under.
What time it was, he didn't have a clue. Bae put the pencil to his lips and laid down on the pew, his arms placed behind his head, cradling his precious possession, his mind. Bae wanted to do something else but hang out in this Church. Maybe he could hunt for some hidden treasures? Secrets of the Church's past even? Bae shook those thoughts from his mind. He wasn't a child anymore. He was a responsible adult, although he had the feelings of a youngster. He smiled as a bird cautiously landed close to him. He wanted to reach out and hold the small creature, but he dared not move. He observed it as it hopped about and eyed him nervously before moving slightly closer. If he moved now, he would for sure scared the poor thing away. Instead, he just closed his eyes and let out a sigh. Life was peaceful and simple here. Which was amazing, as far as he was concerned.
Today, is just too good. He uttered, startling the Sparrow to flee from his sudden voice. He opened his eyes and stared up at the ceiling. He turned his head slightly and the world spun with him. He turned it the other way and it reversed direction. What a funny Church. It moved when you did. He thought childishly, closing his eyes once again. As doing so, a few moments later, he felt the flutter of wings as the Sparrow from before returned, still eyeing the mysterious, featherless being before it.

Kelly was not entirely sure why she was even visiting the church. It was abandoned, and Kelly had never been all that religious anyway. Perhaps it was the lure of a place of sanctuary that drew her to the old church. Maybe it was an interest in history. Whatever it was, Kelly Sampson found herself entering the quiet, peaceful church.
This was perfect, in the shy girl's opinion. It wasn't that she didn't like people - She was just afraid of large numbers of them. She was nervous even in one on one conversation, but at least she could usually handle herself then with minimal amounts of stuttering. Even though logic told her that no one would be able to spot her in a crowd, she was still afraid she'd do something stupid and draw everyone's attention to her. Like turn into an owl in front of everyone. Not that it mattered much anymore - Most of the population seemed to consist of shifters nowadays. It still wasn't generally accepted to change into one's animal form in front of another right away, however.
Kelly's heart skipped a beat when she saw that she was not alone in the church. Even a place of peace, she would have to worry about making a fool of herself. Oh, suck it up Kelly, it's just a guy around your age coming here to relax himself. She told herself mentally, as she approached the front of the church. She paused as she heard the boy talking. "It is, isn't it?" She answered back in a small voice, managing a small smile. She hoped she wouldn't regret this.

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Never hearing any sign of a door or the sudden flight of birds, Bae nearly fell off of his pew. He sat upright, readjusting his glasses and took in a deep breath. He wasn't expecting anyone else to be here, thinking this was his domain, sanctuary, safe place. Y-Yeah. It's one of the best days in my book. Bae said with a nervous smile, but it quickly warmed into a normal, laid back smile. He placed an arm around the backside of the pew and looked up over toward the alter, where the stain glassed windows shone brilliant colors. He turned his head back toward the intruder, and his eyes flickered with a welcoming glint. If you don't mind me asking, what brings you to St. Asraiels?
It wasn't much of his business to know what, where, when, how, and why a person was where he was. This was a free place, a Church left to rot on it's pillars, abandoned of all inhabitants but the Sparrows that now claimed it their own. Hearing the flap of wings, he turned his attention to a Sparrow that had decided to be bravest, it was perched on his knee. Bae smiled at the bird, who watched him with beady black eyes, waiting for the first signs of a threat. It twitched its wings a couple times before knowing that this move was a dumb one, and it took off to the safety of the chandelier.

Kelly smiled, glad to come across someone who seemed to at least be friendly. She hated coming across people who would snap at you for even approaching them. It was the primary reason why Kelly usually did not approach people - You never knew how they would respond. Something had brought her to respond to this male, however.
"Er, um, I-I thought it would be a nice place to relax." Thus far, it seemed as though her suspicions were true. Had she been more of a forward girl, she might have made a flirtatious comment about how he couldn't have the place all to himself. She wasn't completely innocent, as the comment passed through her head. It wouldn't escape her lips, however.
"You?" Kelly question. Fortunately, she could get that one out without stuttering or any filler words. She smiled as she watched the birds flutter around, realizing that she could very well join them if she wished to. She wouldn't, though. Not at the moment, anyway. However, if Kelly became too uncomfortable, there was always the option to fly away. This in itself made Kelly feel more relaxed.

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Bae seemed to have smiled when she said for a place to relax. He was glad she wasn't one of those punk-types that enjoyed vandalizing beautiful property such as this ancient Church. She seemed to have stuttered when she replied, which told him a lot; she wasn't the type that was used to being around people often, but once she knew you, she wouldn't stutter as much. He turned his head towards the alter. Same reason you are, I suppose. Just relaxing. He replied, soon standing up to dust off his pants of the dust and dirt that gathered on the pews. He leaned on the back of the pew in front of him and seemed to be more relaxed.
My name is Bae. Bae Yong-Joon. And yes, I am Korean. And no, I am not a girl. Just wanted to make that clear before the world decided to end. Bae said with a raise of his hands and a playful smile on his face as he expressed what he said in gestures that a four year old would use.

Kelly was certainly not the type to vandalize the church. Even if she did visit with a group of friends (which was highly unlikely, as Kelly did not have enough friends to form a large group anyway), she would be the one hanging behind and telling her friends not to go through with it. It wasn't as though Kelly was a spoilsport, either...she was not against the idea of having fun, but vandalizing a piece of history did not strike her as fun in the least bit.
The nineteen year old could not help but chuckle slightly at Bae's comments. "Didn't figure you were." She managed, not stuttering this time. She wasn't at the point where she trusted him yet, but talking to him had a calming quality that talking to most other people did not. Perhaps it was the environment. Perhaps it was the odd feeling that she had something else in common with him (similar shifting forms, although neither of them of course knew that at this point). "Kelly Sampson." She returned the introduction, contemplating holding out a hand to shake, but deciding against it. That was a bit too forward at this point. If he offered a hand, she would shake it, but she wasn't putting herself on the line yet.

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Upon hearing her name, he smiled. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kelly. He said, unsure to offer a hand, seeing that she didn't offer hers. Maybe she had issues with trust and preferred not to get too close to someone just yet. Still leaning on the back of the pew, he scratched the back of his head, So... Uh. I'm not good at starting conversations... He said with a nervous laugh, this was a hard thing for him to do around other people. He adverted his eyes to the ceiling, where the small birds darted from nest to nest, making no sounds as they flew. [/size][/blockquote]

"Pleasure to meet you too." The young man did not offer a hand, though Kelly decided not to assume the worst about it. Bae seemed friendly enough otherwise, so maybe he just didn't like shaking hands. Or maybe he was waiting for her to make the first move. How interesting would that be?
Bae's next statement seemed to lend credence to the latter theory. Kelly looked a bit startled, but not necessarily in a bad way. She was just surprised that he'd be willing to state that so up front. "Neither am I." She admitted with a small smile. "We'll just have to wing it, I suppose." The corners of the young woman's mouth turned up slightly at this statement. The pun was not lost on her. Of course, she had no idea that the pun applied to the man before her as well, but it applied to her, which was why she found it so amusing.
"Bird watching?" She questioned as she noticed Bae's gaze flick once more to the birds.

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Bae watched another Sparrow swoop just by the alter before vanishing from his sight. He nodded his head some and turned his attention back to the girl in front of him. He seemed to have smiled at the words she said, how ironic it was, birds everywhere.
Just something I do in my spare time. Trying to learn more about the species. Bae shrugged.

Kelly nodded, interested. It wasn't often to find someone else interested in stopping for a few moments and studying something. Kelly, of course, found birds interesting because she was part bird. The young woman looked back at Bae again, seeming to be studying him. She did sense something about him, something...familiar. She shrugged it off, however. As curious as she was, politeness was key, and she wasn't about to go and start asking personal questions unless she felt comfortable doing so (and comfortable responding to them as well). She also tried to remove her gaze from the man, as she knew it was rude to stare.
"Well, it's better than other hobbies, I suppose." Kelly looked up in time to see two sparrows chasing each other (or, at least, that's what they appeared to be doing). She smiled at the sight.

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Bae laughed, Better then sitting in front of the television getting brainwashed, that's for sure. He grinned, watching the birds swoop here and there with such grace and beauty. He often wondered if he was able to do that, fly that well when he was morphed, but he shrugged to himself. Highly doubt it, he hadn't shifted for quite a while, thus forgot what it was like to have bow bent legs and arms that weren't exactly arms anymore. He turned his attention to his sketchpad and reached out to pick it up, doing so, he closed it and looked up again to see the birds still continuing to chase one another. A friendly game of tag, he guessed.
So, what interests do you have? What do you like to do in your spare time? Bae asked, diverting his attention back to the woman who was a few pews away.

Kelly could not help but laugh at Bae's statement. While she did not mind watching television here and there, she had to admit that she did not fancy the idea of sitting in front of the tv for several hours a day either. The young woman noted the young man before her's sketchpad, but decided against asking questions about it, such as what he drew, and if he even drew. Perhaps he used it to write in. She knew people considered their work to be for their eyes only, however, and therefore did not press the issue.
"Spare time? Uh, reading's one of them...I know, I know, not very exciting." Kelly blushed. "I also write some." Kelly shrugged. "What about yourself?" She questioned. He didn't seem as though he was one to go out and party on the town either, so perhaps this wouldn't be too bad.

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Bae nodded some. Writing is good. I do that sometimes, but I am more of a drawer then a writer. Bae shrugged some. So she reads and writes? Not a bad combination, he thought. He shuffled some on his feet before he stretched his arms over his head and sighed. Well, hmm... Favorite... Color? He questioned, trying to somehow get the conversation going again, he let out a nervous laugh, he wasn't doing too hot with this kind of thing.
Especially since it's a girl.

Kelly smiled. She wished that she could draw better than she actually did, but unfortunately all she could get away with were a few doodles here and there. Nothing amazing. "What sorts of things do you draw?" Kelly asked before wondering if she was prying too far with even this question. She did not want to appear rude, after all.
The nineteen year old smiled at Bae's next question. "Purple." She honestly didn't mind that the conversation was going the way that it was. It seemed to ease her into feeling more comfortable with him that they were sharing little things with each other at a time. "Yours?" Kelly watched as a finch fluttered up to her pew and landed a few feet down. Did it sense something about her?

Bae Yong-Joon ☆ Bae flipped over the sketchbook in his hands and shrugged, Anything, really. Birds, People, Cats, whatever. He replied, looking at his hands as he stopped spinning the sketchbook. He looked up and put a hand to his chin. What a hard question! He had more then one favorite color, but if he had to choose only one, then it would be that one.
Brown. He replied with a smile.
